I don’t know much about Ms. Lolah Brown other than the fact that she has a beautiful voice and a mixtape out entitled Black Lily that is currently on my ipod. When I heard this song for the first time the sample was driving me NUTS. I remember being in the airport saying to myself “I KNOW this sound!! where is it from??! aaahhh!”…the oohs and aahh of the gentleman singing falsetto led me to think of Marvin but NO.. it wasn’t Marvin because this sound was 90s… Maxwell? No.. it wasn’t Maxwell because this sound was pre Neo-Soul era… and then it CLICKED into my brain.. it samples of the very end of Anniversary by Tony Toni Tone!! Anywho, this is a great song, glad to see that R&B is slowly but surely coming back. I was getting worried for a second there.
